IDENTIFICATION OF FOUNDATION, CORPORATE, AND FEDERAL SOURCES
- Identify potential funding sources by programmatic need
- Identify by geographical funding focus: local, state, regional, national
- Help with prioritizing funding sources
- Maintain a foundation “watch” service for funding announcements
READINESS (TEMPLATES AND BOILERPLATE)
Description of organization’s vision, values, mission, existing programs and short and long-term programmatic needs
- Organizational Charting
- Financial information to support budget preparation, e.g., salaries & operating expenses
- Identification of potential collaborators or partners that may expand funding sources
- Identification of stakeholders who may be contacted for letters of support
PREPARATION OF GRANT APPLICATIONS
- Prepare application, adapting available templates/creating new ones as needed
- Develop budgets, obtain approval(s) and letters of support as appropriate
POST-AWARD SPONSOR RELATIONS AND PROGRESS REPORTING
- Establish follow-up calendar to ensure timely, appropriate communications with funding source including interim and final reports and renewal applications
- Help with preparing reports and renewals
- Through contact with funding sources, keep abreast of future programmatic goals for those sources
