In quality improvement, strategic planning, and fundraising:

  • Quality improvement program for a health care agency, 27 clinics, 200 staff. Results: streamlined processes and medical protocols, developed an agency-wide focus on customers, and changed organizational culture in leadership and decision-making. Co-facilitated.
  • Team building, problem solving skills, and systems analysis training for the leadership of a private secondary school. Results: improved decision-making based on intuition- and data-based problem-solving tools and whole-system learning capacity.
  • Strategic planning using Appreciative Inquiry, Future Search, and Balanced Scorecard for a Vermont department of state government with 400 employees. Results: vision and initiatives encompassing customer service, communications, culture change, human resources and career development/ training, safety, and marketing.
  • Strategic planning process using Nonprofit Strategic Positioning for a children’s residential health care agency. Results: new lines of business to address family needs, integration of goals into strategy-focused implementation plan, increased charitable giving.
  • Strategic planning using Balanced Scorecard and fundraising planning for a family advocacy organization. Results: focus on three key goals, achieved over $500,000 in new funding in first year of implementation.
  • Organizational and board assessments for state-wide network of workforce housing. Results: board giving from 0% to 100% participation, stronger governance, stronger management, stronger development programs.
  • Development and philanthropic assessment for a girls’ youth development organization. Results: New Director of Development, improved fundraising practices, board retreat for improved governance performance.
  • Day-long training in donor stewardship for multiple nonprofits in urban area. Results: knowledge and experiential learning of stewardship program and practices,
  • Pre-campaign planning study results help the Board and CEO delay campaign solicitations until their strategic planning articulates clear goals, desired outcomes, and fiscal accountability.
  • Capital campaign for $650,000 for renovations in an historic church, raised.
  • Pre-campaign planning study and Campaign Counsel for $6 million+ campaign for a smaller, more focused campaign for rural community hospital: private patient rooms; consolidation of services, new equipment for state-of-the-art rehabilitation facility, in process.
